The patent pending Iris series is a family of light fixtures developed from our Steamlight™ series. Composed of hammered overlapping metal leaves that create an adjustable three dimensional iris aperture.

Involution Pendant

The involution Iris is a light fixture that transforms its form and consequently its environment through changing projections onto space. The Involution Iris is the fruit of years of development of the patented overlapping leaves mechanism first explored in lightexture's Steamlight series.

Composed of overlapping metal leaves that create an adjustable three dimensional aperture, the aperture comprises two opposing irises: as one opens, the other closes. When its lower aperture is open, light shines directly to the ground, and when its upper aperture is open, light shines upward and bounces on the ceiling to fill the space with soft indirect light. The transition between these two oppositions provides a range of reflections and light atmospheres.

Currently fabricated in stainless steel, brass and copper, the reflective interior of the leaf casts intricate reflections that change as the aperture changes its configuration. Light reflects off the metal leaves and bathes the space in their color: steel projecting a silver hue, the brass casting a gold hue, and the copper extending its red hue onto space.

Comes with a 4' white braided cord that can be shortened on installation. If you require a longer cord, please let us know.

All of the electrical parts are UL listed.
