The SteamLight lamp provides two types of light simultaneously: a patterned ambient light and a direct task light beam.
The task light beam may be directed and manipulated in several ways: opening and closing, rotation and tilt. Each adjustment feature is further elaborated below.
The light beam can also be adjusted by rotation and tilt of the lamp-head to desired direction, as illustrated:

The light beam size can be adjusted through opening and closing of the aperture.
In order to enlarge the central light beam, pull the key handle outwards from the center of the lamp. In order to reduce the beam,
push the key handle inwards towards the center of the lamp. (Do not rotate the key, since its rotation has no effect). you can also use the leaves or the surrounding ring that are on the opposite side of the bulb, to assist the lamp’s movement.

The light beam direction can be adjusted through the rotation of the lamp. The lamp head can rotate 350 degrees around the center of the assembly. To rotate use key handle to turn the head of the lamp in the desired rotation direction. you can also use the leaves or the surrounding ring that are on the opposite side of the bulb, to assist the lamp’s movement. In order to use the rotation feature in the desk lamp and clamp models, the lamp head must be perpendicular to main axis stem (this is the position of the lamp-head when the tilt feature is not used)

The light beam direction can be adjusted through the tilt of the lamp head. The lamp head can be tilted up to 180 degrees on the
bulb axis (in the micro lamp, the tilt is not necessarily on the bulb axis). To tilt, use key handle to turn the lamp head on the tilt axis to desired location. you can also use the leaves or the surrounding ring that are on the opposite side of the bulb, to assist the lamp’s movement.

SteamLight uses a low voltage Xenon (sometimes referred to as a xelogen bulb ) For maximum wattage for each model see the SteamLight model table
at the top.
A Xenon bulb is twice more efficient in its energy use than an incandescent bulb in the same wattage and has a longer life span of up to 10,000 hours, which makes it more environmental friendly. The Xenon bulb is a bulb containing xenon and halogen gas and has similar lighting qualities to halogen bulbs, yet it has some advantages, which make it the selected bulb for this product and therefore it may not be replaced with a halogen bulb. Xenon bulbs emit less heat than halogen bulbs and do not emit any damaging UV rays. A Xenon bulb is filled with low pressure gas and therefore requires no shielding. Furthermore, Xenon bulbs have a slightly warmer color tone and last up to 5 times longer than a similar halogen bulb.
Xenon bulbs are available through the following online store:
www.lightbulbemporium.com
For the Small and Extended Wallmount, Micro lamp and Small clamp, search for ‘xenon 12v clear 20w G4’.
For the Medium Wallmount, Large clamp and Desk lamp, search for ‘xenon 12v clear GY6.35 35W’
with reasonable use, The Xenon bulb should last for long years.
All Wallmount lamps should be attached to a surface using 4 screws. The screws supplied with the lamp are drywall screws (if attached to a surface other than drywall please be sure to use appropriate attachment means).
In all wallmount models (excluding the extended wallmount) the lamp head should be tilted towards the wall to allow access to the screw holes at the base (See image). you may also rotate the lamp head to the opposite side of the screw hole to allow maximum access. After inserting the initial screw you may rotate
the lamp head to allow access to the next screw installation (See image).
Cord grips are supplied with the lamp in order to secure the cord to the wall. To attach the cord grip to the wall place the cord in the grip cavity and hammer the nail to the wall. Be sure not to harm the cord with the nail.
To illuminate, insert plug to an electric outlet and turn the switch on or touch the dimmer ball.

A clamp lamp should be attached to an edge of a surface (for example the edge of a table or a shelf). The thickness of the surface should not exceed 2 inches. To attach, place the clamp so it overlaps the surface edge and tighten by rotating clamp handle till secured firmly. Note that overpressure may cause damage to the surface and is not recommended.
To illuminate, insert plug to an electric outlet and turn the switch on or touch the dimmer ball.
A desk lamp should be placed on a horizontal surface. The weight on the base of the lamp should provide necessary stability for reasonable adjustments, and is therefore heavy. Due to it’s weight, its falling might cause damage, please be sure to place it appropriately. To illuminate, insert plug to electric outlet and turn the switch on or touch the dimmer ball.
All Models may be ordered with either a switch or a touch dimmer. To activate the dimmer, touch the metal ball attached to the lamp cable, or in the case of the desk-lamp and micro-lamp models, attached to the lamp base. we recommend that the Dimmer casing would be placed on a horizontal surface. (See drawing)
The dimmers have three brightness levels: low, medium and full capacity. To change level, touch the ball once. Once you reach full capacity, the next touch will turn the light off.The use of a dimmer is efficient in extending bulb life and saves energy by reducing electrical usage. Power fluctuations, burn outs, power spikes
and lighting storms my rarely cause a false activation of the touch dimmer by turning it on or off. When a false activation happens simply touch the ball to turn the lamp off or on. If problem persists plug the unit away in another electrical outlet.
in rare cases, when two touch dimmers operate in the same house, there might be some flickers in the maximum light output mode.
* The touch dimmer mechanism is sensitive. don't allow the metal knob to be in contact with metal surfaces.
* Before changing a bulb, disconnect lamp from electrical outlet to prevent dimmer failure.

* This product is a lighting fixture and should be used only for that purpose.
* The product is NOT waterproof and therefore should not have any contact with water or be placed in a highly humid environment.
* All adjustments should be done using the key handle or the leaves and the surrounding ring that are on the opposite side of the bulb. Other surfaces are not intended for use. Do not touch the interior lamp surfaces when the lamp is on since they may be hot.
* Do not touch the bulb when it is on or within 7 minutes after use (when it is still hot).
* When using a dimmer mechanism – you must disconnect before changing bulb to prevent dimmer failure.
* the touch dimmer mechanism is sensitive. don't allow the metal knob to be in contact with metal surfaces.
* Each lamp is supplied with its low voltage Xenon bulb. The wattage specified in The SteamLight Models table is the maximum that should be used in each configuration, and must be a 12V, Xenon or Xelogen, bi-pin bulbs. Therefore, when changing a bulb, use the specified Xelogen bulb in order to keep with lamp requirements.
Our lamps are generally made for the US line voltage of 110Volt. If you are shipping to a country that has a 220-250 Volts electrical system (most europian/asian countrys) you will need to take some steps in order to adapt our lamps to it. For all plug in lamps (desk lamps, clamps...) you will need to purchase a small common voltage adapter from 220-250V to 110V. The Steamlight lamps with touch dimmers are not recommended for 220-250V countries. For all pendants and hard wired sconces you will need to change the bulb to a 220V (halogen or xenon) bulb.
